comunanza /komuˈnantsa/ · an old Italian word: having something in common

It is the word we use for what brought us home after twenty-eight years abroad. Not the sea, not the food: being well together, effortlessly.
It is not a programme, and it is not an effort. Nobody has to make room for anyone, or put up with anyone. You simply start from what you already have in common: a long table, the piazza at dusk, a walk with nowhere to be, the same feast every summer.
This is what la dolce vita really means. Not luxury: community.
People who study long and happy lives keep ending up in the same place: at a table, with other people. More good years do not come from a programme. They come from community, good food, clean air, love, rest and nature, day after day, without effort.
Manduria has practised comunanza for centuries, in the open: in the piazza, at the festa, on the bench outside the bar. We did not have to invent it. We only had to open the door.
15Dolcevita is a few rooms and one long table in Via Verdi, inside a town that already knows how to be well together. From summer 2027: lunch on Sundays at the long table, an aperitivo each month where locals and newcomers meet, and a course each month in what this land knows how to teach, from bread made by hand to the Primitivo harvest.
Comunanza: stare bene insieme, senza sforzo.
Back to 15Dolcevita →People often find us looking for longevity. What we offer is Comunanza: being well together, effortlessly. Good food, clean air, rest, the Gymnásion, and a town that lives all year around three suites. We promise good days, well spent together.
An infrared sauna, a hamam, red light therapy and the Gymnásion, in Via Verdi 15. More will come as the other houses open, and we will announce each piece the day it is installed.
A resort is built around its guests. Manduria is a real town that lives all year, with its piazza, its shops and its people. You stay inside it, alongside the people who live here and the guests who come for the same reasons.
People who travel as two, and come for more than a room. You come for the house. You stay for the tribe. You live the comunanza.
Yes, all year, from the very first winter. Manduria does not close when the beaches do: the piazza, the shops and the people are all still here. Winter is the season of the hamam’s steam, a hot bath under the stone vault and long dinners in the noble kitchen, with the town around you.
An old Italian word for having something in common. For us it means being well together, effortlessly: the long table, the piazza at dusk, a walk with nowhere to be. Manduria has lived this way for centuries.
In summer 2027, in Via Verdi 15, in the old town of Manduria, Salento, Puglia. Brindisi airport is about forty-five minutes away, the sea fifteen. Join the waiting list to hear first.
